How we store your personal data
We take appropriate measures to ensure that all personal data is kept secure including security measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal data to those who have a genuine business need to know it. We take steps to ensure that those processing your personal data will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted through any online means.
Where we store your personal data
Your personal data will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and potentially other countries outside the UK and European Economic Area (“EEA”) where we or our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may not provide the same level of protection as the laws in your country. When we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place by making sure that at least one of the following mechanisms is implemented:
- Transfers to territories with an adequacy decision. We may transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the EU Commission or UK government from time to time.
- Transfers to territories without an adequacy decision. We may transfer your personal data to countries that have not been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data by the EU Commission or UK government. In these cases:
- we may use specific appropriate safeguards, which are designed to give personal data effectively the same protection it has in the EU and UK (e.g., the EU Commission’s ‘Standard Contractual Clauses’ or the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement); or
- in limited circumstances, we may rely on an exception, or ‘derogation’, which permits us to transfer your personal data to such country despite the absence of an ‘adequacy decision’ or ‘appropriate safeguards’, e.g., reliance on your explicit consent to that transfer or because it is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (including regulatory, administrative or any out-of-court procedure, and seeking advice).
You can contact us if you want further information on the specific mechanism used by us when transferring your personal data out of the UK. You may have the right to receive a copy of the appropriate safeguards under which your personal data is transferred.
How long we keep your personal data
We retain recruitment data for up to 12 months from the date of our last meaningful contact with you in connection with recruitment. Unless you require deletion before that time, you will receive an email asking if you’d like us to keep your personal data for a longer period for future opportunities. If you do not reply, your personal data will be deleted.
